The experience of other schools is a valuable foundation for school development. In my work, I keep coming across Scolaia in this context. The platform makes innovative school approaches visible and helps schools develop ideas for their own practice. I took a closer look at what it offers.
Scolaia is an initiative of #wirfürschule and the Digital Education for All association in Germany. It connects examples from practice with opportunities to exchange ideas, digital learning tools, and education organizations.
A central starting point is the InnovatorsMap. It features projects on topics including self-directed learning, democracy education, and makerspaces. The search can be filtered by topic, school type, German federal state, and opportunities to visit a school.
I find the implementation details particularly useful: project descriptions provide insight into development steps, resources, and challenges. Schools can use this information to assess which approaches fit their goals and what conditions they would need to put in place. School visits also offer an opportunity to see approaches in practice and discuss experiences directly with the people responsible.
The AI prompt generator supports project planning. You enter the details you want it to consider, such as the topic, target group, time frame, and available resources. Scolaia turns these into a prompt: a detailed set of instructions. You then copy this text into an AI tool of your choice to develop the project further.
The directories of learning tools and education organizations also help schools find tools and potential partners. “Teachers on Stage” offers short presentations by teachers. Kipti has its own profile on the platform, which I am particularly pleased about as its founder.
My impression: Scolaia makes practical knowledge easier to access. The combination of documented experience, personal exchange, and planning support is what makes the platform interesting for school development.
